This website and discussion group are devoted exclusively to addressing the issues facing communities and residents along the A51. It will provide a way to communicate and share concerns, to find areas of common agreement, to campaign for change, to co-ordinate action and to liaise with other like-minded groups throughout the UK.

The website will act as a 'front page' for Action Groups along the A51. The e-mail Discussion List will enable activists from all Action Groups to share problems, propose remedies, publicise skills needed and skills available - to act as a communication medium which enables the rapid dissemination of information.

Visit the website regularly to keep up-to-date with A51 issues in your area. Use the discussion list to post your concerns, suggestions for solutions, skills and resources needed, skills and resources available, and to identify common objectives among communities along the A51. There must be an abundance of untapped organisational talent and ideas in our communities - we have the opportunity now to pool resources and achieve results.

With sufficient participants and time it should be possible for residents to achieve remedies for the perennial A51 problems of traffic volume, speed and noise pollution, environmental deterioration and damage to neighbourhood quality and property values. In the past, limited local success has been achieved - now the Internet gives us the prospect of gaining 'strength in numbers'.

Throughout the UK, the Internet has empowered action groups to achieve results that were unimaginable only a few years ago!
